Managing Versions inside Botsify

Botsify automatically creates a new version every time you update your agent instructions. This allows you to track changes, view previous versions, revert to an earlier version, and deploy the exact version you want to use.

STEP 01

Go to agentic.botsify.com and create a new Chatbot.

Enter a prompt describing the agent you want to build.

For example:

"Create an agent for hotel reservations."

STEP 02

Click on Generate Agent.

The builder will create a new agent based on your instructions and automatically save it as Version 1.

You will see the generated prompt, files, and agent configuration.

STEP 03

Update the agent instructions with a completely new requirement.

For example:

"Create an agent for a dental clinic."

When you submit the new instructions, the existing agent configuration will be updated and a new version will be created automatically.

STEP 04

Wait for the update process to complete.

You will notice that the agent has been fully updated based on the new instructions.

All prompts, files, and configurations will now reflect the dental clinic use case.

STEP 05

You can continue making additional updates to your agent.

For example:

"The name of my clinic is ABC Dental Clinics. Please update the script and chatbot name based on this brand name."

This type of update modifies the existing agent instead of creating a completely different use case.

STEP 06

After the update is completed, click on the Versions option at the top of the builder.

You will see a list of all saved versions.

Each update creates a new version automatically.

STEP 07

From the Versions panel, you can:

• View all available versions

• See when each version was created

• Open a version to review its prompt and files

• Compare previous snapshots of your agent

STEP 08

To review a specific version, click on the View icon.

You can inspect the prompt, generated files, and configuration associated with that version.

STEP 09

If you want to restore a previous version, click on Revert.

For example, if you revert to Version 1, the hotel reservation agent will become your current working version again.

STEP 10

Reverting changes only the current working version.

It does not automatically update the live deployed agent.

Your deployed version remains unchanged until you deploy again.

STEP 11

To make a version live, click on Deploy Agent.

The selected version will be deployed and marked as the active deployed version.

STEP 12

You can continue switching between versions even after deployment.

For example, you can revert back to Version 3 and continue editing it without affecting the currently deployed version.

STEP 13

Open the Versions panel at any time to see:

• Your current working version

• Your deployed version

• All previous version snapshots

This allows you to safely experiment with changes while keeping a stable version deployed for users.
